Job Description

HumanHire is working with a growing professional services firm to find an HR Generalist to join their team in Garden City, NY. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional looking to take on a broad, hands-on role supporting employees and leadership across multiple locations.
The HR Generalist will support day-to-day human resources operations, including employee relations, onboarding, payroll coordination, leave administration, Workers' Compensation, employee records, and HR compliance. This individual will work closely with employees, managers, and company leadership to help ensure HR processes run smoothly.

• $75K-$90K base salary, depending on experience

• Full-time, Monday-Friday schedule based out of the company's Garden City corporate office

HR Generalist Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day HR operations across multiple locations and employee populations.
• Coordinate new-hire onboarding, employee documentation, offboarding, and other employee lifecycle processes.
• Serve as a resource to employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, benefits, and general workplace questions.
• Assist with employee relations matters, investigations, and documentation, escalating more complex issues as appropriate.
• Coordinate weekly payroll activities and work with payroll providers or internal teams to ensure accurate and timely processing.
• Manage and maintain employee records and HR information in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
• Coordinate leave of absence and Workers' Compensation processes, ensuring appropriate documentation and follow-up.
• Assist with benefits administration, including employee questions, enrollment, and coordination with benefit providers.
• Support HR compliance initiatives, audits, and required employee documentation.
• Assist with recruiting, job postings, interviews, and other talent acquisition activities as needed.
• Contribute to HR projects, process improvements, and other initiatives supporting the overall effectiveness of the HR function.

HR Generalist Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of progressive HR experience in a generalist, HR coordinator, or similar role.
• Working knowledge of HR practices, employee relations, payroll, benefits, and employment documentation.
• Experience with HRIS and/or payroll systems; experience with systems such as ADP, UKG, or similar platforms is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both employees and management.
• Ability to handle confidential employee information with discretion and sound judgment.
