- Any bachelor's degree or higher and two years of professional experience; OR
- Any associate degree and six years of professional experience;
- The equivalent (must request an equivalency review in the application), OR
- California Community College credential, "Valid for Life" (no longer issued), authorizing service as an instructor in the appropriate discipline; refer to Ed Code § 87355 (If meeting qualifications with this credential, a copy of the valid lifetime credential must be submitted with the application.);
- Communicate effectively to students orally and in writing.
- Coordinate clinical practice to didactic and curricular standards and theory whenever possible.
- Supervises student conduct in the classroom and lab, on the campus, and clinical setting.
- Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NRBC); must be licensed by the Respiratory Care Board of California
- Prepare lessons and lesson plans relative to the course of study. (Respiratory Therapy and Medical Terminology).
- Present curriculum, lectures, demonstrations, and laboratory supervision as indicated by curricular directives.
- Review assessment data and adjust curriculum and instructional methodologies to improve student learning.
- Participate in the evaluation of students, classroom, or instructional methodologies.
- Maintain records of attendance, academic progress, and laboratory performance.
- Provide timely summary grade records to registrar and/or assigned records personnel.
- Assure student conformance to campus expectations. Maintain class discipline.
- Offers students additional tutoring outside class time. Refers students to appropriate campus resources.
