Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)

• Schedule: 8-hour day shifts; overtime offered but not expected
• Job Setting: Multiple locations
• Types of Cases: General
• Charting System: Meditech
• Number of Anesthesia Rooms: 22
• MD Supervision: Yes; MD to CRNA/CAA ratio 1:4; MDs not doing their own cases
• Duration: 26 weeks
• Credentialing: Estimated privileging timeframe 120 days; emergency accelerated privileges (under 30 days) available

• Pre-anesthesia assessment
• Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
• Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
• Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
• Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
• Performance of clinical intervention as needed

• Certifications: Certified or recertified by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists
• Licensure: Current license as a registered professional nurse; graduation from an accredited program of nurse anesthesia education; state license required prior to placement (not open to candidates needing to obtain state license)
