The Mental Health Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) is a licensed professional who provides basic psychiatric nursing care, behavioral support, and milieu safety interventions under the clinical supervision of a Registered Nurse and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. The LVN/LPT contributes to patient care by collecting data, implementing therapeutic interventions, administering medications within scope, supporting crisis management, and maintaining a safe, structured, recovery-oriented environment for patients experiencing acute or chronic psychiatric conditions.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited LVN or LPT program.
• Experience: Minimum of one (1) year psychiatric or behavioral health experience preferred
• Demonstrated competency in therapeutic communication, crisis intervention, and milieu management
• Licensure & Certifications: Current California LVN or LPT license Current CPR certification Completion of Handle with Care (HWC) training within 30 days of hire Successful completion of medication administration and developmental competency exams
• Additional Requirements: Ability to adapt to changing patient needs and acuity Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team Strong written and verbal communication skills
