Contract | Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to ICU patients with diagnoses including DKA, sepsis, respiratory failure, cardiac conditions (rate and rhythm control), and medical detox in a 4-bed unit
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2–3 depending on patient acuity
• Titrate drips and manage titratable medications typical to an ICU setting
• Manage and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment ranging from nasal cannula to mechanical ventilation
• Independently read and interpret telemetry monitor strips
• Float to Med/Surg or the Emergency Room (1:1 assignment) as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid for the state of North Dakota
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC / TCAR or demonstrated experience with the care of trauma patients
• Experience titrating drips and managing critically ill ICU patients
• Ability to independently read and interpret cardiac monitor strips
• Must pass facility-required respiratory fit testing; clinicians with facial hair must pass the Primary or Secondary fit test (3M Aura 1860 S/R or 3M 1870+) — inability to pass fit testing and unwillingness to remove facial hair may result in contract cancellation
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; candidates currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN at any facility associated with CommonSpirit, CHI, and/or Dignity are not eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience managing arterial lines, CVP monitoring, and complex ICU drips
• Prior experience in a small or critical access ICU environment
• Demonstrated ability to coach team members and identify unsafe clinical situations
