Summary:

The Financial Analyst turns complex financial and operational data into accurate, meaningful insight for decision-making across the organization. The role has primary responsibility for mark-to-market reporting and related supply chain analytics, while also supporting month-end reporting, planning, forecasting, and cross-functional projects. This position is well suited for a curious, detail-oriented analyst who enjoys working closely with data, understanding how business activity flows through the financial results, and improving the processes and tools used to report

Primary Duties:

• Lead the recurring mark-to-market process for trading and contract activity, including data preparation, validation, analysis, reporting, documentation, and communication of results.
• Develop a strong understanding of commodity markets, procurement, transportation, trading activity, and contract economics to explain performance drivers, financial impacts, and emerging risks.
• Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, exceptions, and underlying business drivers, and translate findings into clear, actionable insights for Finance and business leaders.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Accounting, Finance, IT, and other teams to resolve data issues and improve the accuracy, consistency, and usefulness of reporting.
• Develop financial models, scenario analyses, dashboards, and recurring or ad hoc reporting to support business decisions and strategic initiatives.
• Support month-end close and management reporting, including assigned journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, supporting schedules, variance analysis, and financial commentary.
• Connect operational activity to the general ledger and management results by investigating unusual activity, validating source data, and explaining actual performance versus plan, forecast, and prior periods.
• Support the annual plan, recurring forecasts, long-range planning, executive and Board materials, and other Finance or cross-functional projects as needed.
• Proactively identify and implement opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, and strengthen financial and analytical processes, including expanded use of ERP, Power BI, workflow, and AI-assisted tools.
• Maintain appropriate documentation and controls, balance recurring responsibilities with project-based work, and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Economics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of relevant finance, accounting, FP&A, supply chain finance, commodity, manufacturing, or analytical experience preferred.
• Solid understanding of financial statements, accounting concepts, and month-end reporting processes, with interest in how operational activity affects financial results.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and demonstrated ability to work accurately with large, complex, or imperfect data sets.
• Experience with ERP and business intelligence tools; Microsoft Dynamics 365, Knime and Power BI preferred.
• Strong analytical curiosity, problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated interest in process improvement, automation, data visualization, or reporting modernization.
• Ability to work independently, manage changing priorities, collaborate across functions, and exercise sound judgment regarding accuracy, controls, and confidential information.
• CMA and/or CPA preferred.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment

Salary & Benefits:

The expected compensation range for this position is $67,400-$90,000 which includes annual base pay. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. Position is eligible for variable incentive pay in accordance with performance in accordance with an annual bonus plan. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).

Work location:

Hybrid Eligible in office Tuesday-Thursday (Job Duties allow for some remote work but requires travel to Eden Prairie, MN office)

Travel: May include up to 20% domestic

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
