Job Summary:
The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in Morgantown, West Virginia. This role involves providing post-operative care for adult and pediatric patients recovering from anesthesia, including patients involved in trauma cases and ICU recoveries. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The position offers rotating shifts primarily Monday through Friday days, with possible rotation to weekends and night shifts as needed.

Job Details:

• Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
• Shift Hours: 12 hours, rotating; primarily Monday through Friday days, with potential rotation to weekends and night shifts as needed
• Minimum Hours Per Week: 36.0 hours
• Required Qualifications: Valid license; Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); Minimum of 2 years of experience, including prior PACU experience; Experience with respiratory therapy equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPAP, etc); proficiency in reading strips; EPIC electronic medical record experience
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in level 1 trauma PACU is preferred
• Schedule: 0.9 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) may be scheduled three 12-hour shifts or four 9-hour shifts; 1.0 FTE may be scheduled four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts; pre-op shifts start at 0530; PACU shifts start at 0730, 0800, 0830, 0900, 0930, or 1000
• Additional Information: Charge nurses do not typically take assignments but can when necessary. The unit typically has 5 PCAs in pre-op, 2 in PACU, and 2 in Phase II. ICU patients may recover in PACU unless an ICU bed is available, which is subject to throughput and capacity. The role may require working one holiday shift and one holiday call shift per season (summer/winter).
• Submission Requirements: Can only submit to one position at a time across the entire organization. Drivers license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility. Previously permanent candidates must have been gone for 2 years; previous travelers for 1 full year must also be gone for 2 years. Travel teams must be submitted together in one email. The organization permits a maximum of two candidates per opening.
