Shipping and Receiving Clerk

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk verifies and records all incoming and outgoing shipments in a large, clean manufacturing environment. This role prepares and schedules items for shipment, compares shipment details against documentation, and ensures accurate, timely movement of materials throughout the facility using equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain shipment records (incoming/outgoing).
• Prepare and schedule shipments.
• Verify shipments against documents.
• Choose suitable shipping methods.
• Label, pack, and secure items.
• Track shipments and ensure timely delivery.
• Update inventory and shipment data in system.
• Report damages/shortages and resolve issues.
• Operate forklifts/pallet jacks for handling.
• Support warehouse and inventory tasks.

Essential Skills

• 1+ year in shipping/receiving or warehouse roles.
• Knowledge of shipping, packaging, and verification processes.
• Ability to select appropriate shipping methods.
• Experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Strong data entry and record-keeping skills.
• Verify shipments against documents for accuracy.
• Detail-oriented in identifying damages or shortages.
• High school diploma required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with packaging, packing, and material handling in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Familiarity with assembling wooden or cardboard containers and using spacers, fillers, and protective padding for secure shipments.
• Comfort working with shipping labels and stencil equipment to mark cartons with correct shipping information.
• Ability to plan and monitor daily shipments and follow up on bookings to ensure timely delivery.
• Experience working with inventory systems and maintaining accurate stock and shipment records.

Work Environment

You will work in a large, clean aircraft manufacturing facility. The role involves handling materials in both production and warehouse areas. You will use equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and packaging tools. The environment is structured and focused on safety. Work is fully on-site, moving between storage areas, shipping docks, and production zones during your shift.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Huntington Beach, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
