TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Omaha, Nebraska, 68105!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 or 26 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of prior telemetry experience in a large, urban hospital License: RN License Certifications: BLS required, ACLS, CPI, NIH preferred Must-Have: Travelers must be prepared to float frequently to meet the staffing needs of the facility. Charting experience with EPIC is required. First-time travelers will not be accepted unless they have 2 years of experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center. Description: This is a 20-bed general medical surgical and telemetry unit. The unit also cares for orthopedic patients. Patients may include those with total knee and hip replacements, complicated orthopedic cases, pulmonary issues, sepsis, GI, endocrine, cardiac, renal, and psychiatric illnesses. Ratios are 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night. Night ratios can reach 1:7 occasionally. Patients are assigned for weekly assessments, vital checks, and lab work with support from care techs and other clinicians. It is expected that there will be floating within the scope to meet facility needs. Floating may include potentially covering allied campuses. Unit staffing includes CNAs, care techs, transport teams, and paramedics. The facility requires a 100% nicotine-free environment. Weekend shifts are included in the schedule. Travelers must work 2 out of 3 major holidays. Requests for time off must be submitted with the application. Mandatory scrubs are required, and details will be provided upon confirmation. This role is critical as part of an interdisciplinary team that includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Special procedures may involve management of complex discharges and specialized patient care. Required skills include administration and management of multiple drips and care for a variety of medical conditions. Candidates must also display competency in rapid response and code situations. Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams is essential.
