Job Title: Labor and Delivery Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 3 Years License: Current RN License Certifications: NRP, BLS, STABLE Must-Have: Experience in both Labor and Delivery Description: The Labor and Delivery Nurse monitors maternal and fetal well-being. Manages labor progression and assists with deliveries. Responds promptly to obstetric emergencies. This role requires strong clinical judgment and effective communication. Provides emotional support to patients and families during significant moments in their lives. Ensures safe, efficient, and caring nursing services to achieve high standards of patient care. Responsible for administering medications and performing cervical exams within scope. Interprets fetal monitoring strips and prepares patients for operative deliveries. Provides postpartum education to support the mother and newborn. Plays a critical role in promoting a positive birth experience. Ensures optimal outcomes for both mother and newborn.
