Senior Optical DC Engineer

Overview AI2CNE strives to be a global leader in the RDMA cluster networking domain and enable seamless, accelerated high‑performance compute, artificial intelligence, and machine learning advancements. The role supports design, deployment, and operations of large‑scale Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) RDMA clusters, focusing on high‑speed fiber optic network fabric links and systems, optical cable and transceiver management, and automation. Responsibilities Collaborate with optical engineering, network design, AI Ops, DC Ops, and build teams to develop milestones and deliverables validating optical cabling and transceiver build quality for AI data center builds. Use existing procedures and tools to develop and safely execute DC network builds and changes; occasionally develop new procedures. Provide break‑fix support for optical links to meet RDMA cluster performance criteria (pre‑FEC BER, RX power, FEC bin, BOL and EOL margins). Serve as the escalation point for event remediation and lead post‑event root cause analysis. Develop MPOs or scripts to automate routine tasks for teams to improve build quality. Support dashboards that represent data at L1 layers and device roles to identify link‑level issues and anomalies. Serve as SME on data center build standards for optical cabling and transceiver installation and troubleshooting. Participate in AI DC deployment rotations, traveling up to 50% domestically for link validations and recommendations. Support operations to stabilize RDMA networks after turn‑up. Qualifications Required experience: Knowledge of optical cables (patch cords, shuffle, bulk/trunk), high‑speed optical transceivers, and RDMA leaf‑spine network architecture at L0/L1 physical layer and L2 protocol levels. Strong troubleshooting, automation, and programming skills. Certain U.S. based or U.S. customer or client‑facing roles may be required to comply with applicable immunization, occupational health mandates, and/or drug testing requirements. Salary range (U.S.): $99,600 – $234,600 per year, with potential bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
