Tax Staff Accountant
Location: Orland Park, IL
Compensation: Up to $90,000 + bonus + excellent benefits

We are conducting a search for a well-established and highly respected CPA firm in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. This firm has been serving clients for nearly 30 years and has built an outstanding reputation for technical excellence, exceptional client service, and long-term employee retention.

The practice serves a diverse client base that includes high-net-worth individuals, trusts, partnerships, S Corporations, C Corporations, and closely held businesses. They offer a collaborative, team-oriented environment with excellent work-life balance outside of busy season and outstanding long-term career growth.

Work Schedule
This is a hybrid position based in Orland Park. During the onboarding period, you'll work primarily in the office. Once fully acclimated, employees generally work from home one day per week , with the remainder of the week in the office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual (1040), trust, corporate, S Corporation, and partnership tax returns.
• Assist with tax planning and consulting for individuals and business clients.
• Perform accounting and bookkeeping services for small business clients.
• Process payroll and related payroll tax filings.
• Respond to IRS and state tax notices.
• Work directly with clients and build long-term relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2-3+ years of public accounting tax experience.
• Experience preparing 1040, S Corporation, partnership, and corporate tax returns.
• Strong communication and client relationship skills.
• Self-starter who enjoys working independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• CPA or CPA-track is a plus, but not required.

• CCH Axcess
• Lacerte
• Foreign tax return exposure is a plus, but not required.
