What You'll Do:

• Accurately prepare and dispense medications
• Assist pharmacists with daily operations
• Maintain medication inventory and records
• Provide knowledgeable, friendly support to patients and staff

What We're Looking For:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred (required for validating duties)
• Experience: Acute Care: Prior experience in a minimum of three pharmacy skills OR hired as a Pharmacy Tech II Certified, have 2 years experience in acute care and now competently performing a third pharmacy skill required. Outpatient Oncology: Prior experience in a minimum of three pharmacy skills OR hired as a Pharmacy Tech II Certified, have 2 years experience in acute care or oncology setting, and now competently performing a third pharmacy skill required. Specialty Pharmacy: Minimum of two years of experience in specialty pharmacy setting required
• Licensure/Certification: Current registry with applicable State Board(s) of Pharmacy, required. PTCB or NHA Certification within 60 days of hire or proof of enrollment in pharmacy school required. A minimum of two relevant specialized certificates/certifications from approved vendors such as PTCB, BPTS or NPTA or one additional certificate/certification for technicians with Validating Tech credentials (NC) required
• Additional Skills (required): State registration and/or evidence of renewal is required for Technicians fifteen days prior to expiration and Technicians are required to be either certified through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA), or be actively enrolled in an accredited pharmacy school with an active NCBOP pharmacy intern license, or be active in Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Examination (FPGEE) or Foreign Equivalency Certification (FPGEC). Considerable knowledge and application of basic math skills, including ratio and proportion relationships; strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Basic technology skills. Other duties as outlined in Novant Health and facility specific policies and procedures. Ability to drive/travel to multiple facilities/locations as needed. Ability to work as part of a high performing, change ready and resilient team
• Additional Skills (preferred): Considerable knowledge of medication names (both trade and generic) and their doses, routes of administration, and adverse effects; the ability to demonstrate patient interview skills and strong written and verbal communication skills with other healthcare professionals. Experience with inventory management
