Job Description Practice Location: North Crescent Surgery Center Registered Nurse with PACU experience Fast paced outpatient OBGYN ambulatory surgery center. Job Accountabilities Effectively uses equipment by anticipating patient needs and providing appropriate care Assists in inventory of supplies, drugs, and equipment to maintain availability and stock levels in the preoperative area Maintains order and cleanliness of preoperative area Performs through preoperative patient assessment required in the outpatient setting Provides preoperative instruction and explanation of patient rights and responsibilities Describes the peri-operative experience to the patient/significant other, including what to expect before, during, and after the procedure, and how the significant other will participate Obtains pertinent patient records prior to patient's arrival for preoperative testing Performs all preoperative testing (i.e., laboratory work, electrocardiogram, x-rays, etc.) Reports all abnormal values to anesthesiologist/attending surgeon Explains informed consent for surgery, patient's rights/responsibilities, and preoperative/postoperative instructions Obtains necessary signatures Ensures that the patient's chart is complete on day before surgery is scheduled Participates in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities. Schedule 2 room OR Monday - Friday, typical hours are 6:00am - 3:00pm (hours may vary depending on schedule) No weekends, holidays, or call * The company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time. Job Qualifications Minimum Education: High school graduate or equivalent, Graduate of accredited school of nursing Certifications and Licenses: RN with active Georgia license, Basis Life Support/CPR certification (Preferred) Skills Effective communicator Ability to maintain records Attention to detail Knowledge in the fields of medicine, anatomy and physiology Ability to use computers #J-18808-Ljbffr 6AM City, LLC
