Sterile Tech Profession: Sterile Tech Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Evenings Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: 1 year of Sterile Processing experience License: None required Certifications: BLS, CRCST or CBSPD Must-Have Skills: 1 year of SPD experience, utilizing ultrasonic, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization Description: Hiring process includes a profile review and an interview with the unit manager. Clinicians must be available in-state for the week of orientation, even if the first day modules are remote. Certification requirements include BLS and either CRCST or CBSPD. Common cases include Ortho, Spine, Robot, General, Urology, Gyn, and ENT. The department covers 9 suits. Duties involve assembly, decontamination, and sterilization. Experience with common equipment for disinfection and sterilization is essential. Self-scheduling is offered for shifts. Call requirements include 24 hours on Saturday and Sunday every 8 weeks. Call response time is 30 minutes. There are no floating requirements. Scrub color is ceil blue. Unit-specific orientation is provided for staff. The facility allows cancellation of up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment. Charting system used is EPIC. No BSN requirement for this position. Trauma level is 1. Care setting is Acute. Division is Allied.
