The Warehouse Specialist (SSA) The Warehouse Specialist (SSA) is responsible for a variety of warehousing duties, including verifying materials or merchandise against receiving documents, receiving, storing, stacking, or palletizing materials, and removing material from storage to prepare it for shipping. Responsibilities This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company. Major Job Activities Work with the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-Army) to receive, issue and store class II, IV and IX repair parts. Able to work in any section in the Supply Support Activity (SSA) except the Shipping and Receiving section. Locate information on issue documents (MRO) and compare the information on documents with parts being pulled or put‑away. Select stock in the quantities indicated by the document, reporting location discrepancies, shortages, and damages to the Supply Technician or Lead. Receive turn‑ins of items, inspect item conditions, and verify material numbers, nomenclature, quantity, and process of disposition. Sign documents confirming receipt of items. Receive incoming shipments and assist in unloading vehicles at the loading ramp. Inspect for damages, check items received against shipping documents, and sign receipts as appropriate. Unpack or uncrate incoming shipments as required and inspect for internal damage or missing components. Stock the warehouse according to assigned locations, restock, and relocate items while keeping repair parts organized. Operate material‑handling equipment (forklifts) 2,000‑6,000 lbs. Perform preventative maintenance checks & services (PMCS) before, during, and after using forklifts. Be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Perform other duties as assigned. Job duties and responsibilities may change due to contractual requirements. Use standard office equipment, associated computer applications, and a forklift. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as a safety vest, steel or composite shoes/boots, safety gloves, hard hat, and eyewear in certain areas. Work typically in a temperature‑controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment. There may be times when an employee is exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Must be able to lift a maximum of 50 pounds. Must be able to operate in a warehouse and outdoor type environment. Must be able to walk on uneven ground and work various sites for 6‑8 hours a day in performance of duties. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Pass the standard background check. Pass a pre‑employment drug test. Possess a valid REAL ID State Driver’s License with no restrictions. Maintain a Common Access Card (CAC). Maintain a NACI Tier 1 Public Trust. Provide proof of U.S. Citizenship (e.g., birth certificate or U.S. Passport). Maintain driving privileges on the Fort Bragg Installation. Have four (4) years or more experience in warehouse operations. Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact at all levels. Forklift license and experience preferred. Knowledge of GCSS‑Army and regulatory supply systems. Knowledge of warehouse operations and use of protective personal equipment and OSHA standards. Perform other duties as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives. Organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and perform with a high degree of accuracy. Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Possess high ethical standards and demonstrate professionalism. Work independently or in a team‑based, highly collaborative environment. Work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
