The Department of Mathematics, Computer Science, and Digital Forensics at Commonwealth University invites applications for two one-year full-time temporary instructor positions for the academic year 2026-27 to teach Mathematics/Statistics at the Bloomsburg campus. About the Department: The Department of Mathematics, Computer Science, and Digital Forensics offers B.S. degrees in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, and Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity. Led by more than 30 full-time faculty members holding doctoral degrees from prestigious institutions and active in various research areas, publishing articles and textbooks, while maintaining strong connections to local industry. We are committed to preparing graduates for rewarding careers as well as opportunities in competitive graduate schools. About the College: The Department of Mathematics, Computer Science, and Digital Forensics is one of the three departments in the College of Science and Technology. Duties
Teaching introductory mathematics and statistics courses such as: Mathematical Thinking, Critical Reasoning, Concepts of Arithmetic and Number Systems, College Algebra, Concepts of Geometry and Statistics, Introduction to Statistics, and Mathematics for the Health Sciences. The normal full-time teaching load is 12 credit hours of instruction per-semester. Qualifying Experience and Education (Minimum/Preferred)
An earned Master's degree in Mathematics or Statistics, OR an earned Master's degree in Computer Science with at least 30 credits of graduate level mathematics courses, OR an earned Master's degree in a related field with at least 30 credits of graduate level mathematics courses. The ability to communicate well, a strong commitment to teaching, and demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations. Special Instructions to Applicants

Offers of employment are conditional, pending successful completion of the background clearances mandated by Act 153 of 2014 and Board of Governors Policy 2014-01-A: Protection of Minors. In order to qualify for a provisional appointment, the Applicant Acknowledgement Consent Form, Provisional Hire Form, Pennsylvania State Police and Justifacts portion of the clearance process must be successfully completed prior to your start date.
