Project Engineer

Thomarios Construction is seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join our growing team. This position will support Project Managers and Superintendents in the planning, coordination, and execution of medium to large commercial, healthcare, institutional, infrastructure, and parking structure projects throughout Northeast Ohio. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career construction professional looking to develop into a Project Manager while working on complex and impactful projects alongside experienced industry leaders.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The Project Engineer serves as a key member of the project team and is involved throughout the entire project lifecycle, from preconstruction through project closeout. Responsibilities include: Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with project planning, coordination, and administration. Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and project documentation. Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers. Assist with project scheduling, procurement, and material tracking. Attend project meetings and distribute meeting minutes and action items. Support contract administration, change management, and cost tracking efforts. Monitor project progress and assist with quality control initiatives. Perform site visits and field coordination as needed. Assist with punch lists, closeout documentation, and project turnover. Maintain project records utilizing Procore and other project management software. Support preconstruction activities including bid reviews, scope analysis, estimating support, and constructability reviews.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree (or expected graduation within six months) in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. 0–3 years of construction experience. Internship or co-op experience with a general contractor, construction manager, or engineering firm is preferred but not required. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, or similar software is a plus. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites throughout Northeast Ohio.

Must be able to work in Northeast Ohio and travel to project sites as required. Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
