What You’ll Do As a Custodian , your day will be active, varied, and essential. You'll help ensure facilities are clean, safe, and ready for public use. Typical responsibilities include: Cleaning and disinfecting restrooms, offices, locker rooms, and common areas Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and maintaining floors and surfaces Emptying trash and restocking supplies Traveling between city facilities to perform custodial duties Assisting with minor maintenance tasks like changing light bulbs or painting Supporting event setup and takedown Maintaining equipment and reporting any issues or safety concerns Assisting with pool maintenance and cleaning equipment at aquatic facilities Every Custodian plays a vital role in creating a positive environment for the community. Schedule This Custodian position offers a flexible part‑time schedule of 20–30 hours per week , typically Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays .
