Pay Rate: $6,665.92 - $7,006.42/month Job Location: Chabot College, 25555 Hesperian Blvd., Hayward, CA 94545 Department: Academic Pathways and Student Success Job Summary Chabot College is committed to educational equity and serves a diverse student population. The program coordinator will lead the Restorative Integrated Self‑Education (RISE) program, working with families, incarcerated student populations, community partners, and internal stakeholders to promote equity, support student success, and enhance program effectiveness. Key Responsibilities Coordinate daily services and activities related to the RISE program. Implement, recruit, and promote support services for RISE based on program and student needs. Partner and collaborate with Santa Rita Prison to promote and register students for coursework. Identify, plan, develop, and implement activities that support currently and formerly incarcerated students. Develop and maintain systems to monitor and evaluate program effectiveness; participate in ongoing program reviews. Maintain records, files, and statistics to ensure compliance with federal and state reporting requirements, including State Chancellor's Office MIS data reporting. Coordinate with statewide Rising Scholars community to ensure fidelity. Liaise with college and community partners to raise awareness and advocate for RISE support. Assist in maintaining program financial records, recommend adjustments, and prepare budget reports as required. Oversee development of in‑reach and outreach materials (brochures, flyers, posters, social media, website, etc.). Provide staff assistance to the assigned administrator and participate in committees. Attend professional group meetings, stay current on issues, trends, and developments, and adapt to changing technology. Coordinate active marketing and social media presence for RISE. Provide assistance with college‑wide activities, events, and programs related to RISE students. Perform related duties as required. Minimum Education and Experience Education/Training: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in social sciences, liberal studies, business administration, public administration, or a related field. Experience: Three years of increasingly responsible administrative, technical, or programmatic experience, preferably in outreach, program development, or an educational institution. Minimum Qualifications Knowledge of Issues faced by formerly incarcerated students and knowledge of community resources and support groups. Federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations, including applicable sections of the State Education Code. Program planning, implementation, and evaluation principles. Fiscal, statistical, and administrative record‑keeping procedures. Outreach, marketing, and social media principles and techniques. Research and report preparation for fiscal and statistical purposes. Effective communication and collaboration with students, faculty, staff, and administration. Understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds of community college students. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy. Proficiency with office procedures, computer equipment, and software applications (word processing, spreadsheets, databases). Ability to Coordinate and direct RISE programs, activities, and operations. Carry out work objectives efficiently without immediate supervision. Perform detailed technical, programmatic, and administrative duties with judgment and accuracy. Recommend and implement goals for program and operations. Maintain databases, websites, and computer systems. Apply administrative policies and procedures and federal, state, and local regulations. Research information independently. Organize, assimilate, and analyze information. Respond tactfully to public, students, staff, and agency requests. Manage scheduling and financial transactions and resolve problems. Provide leadership, training, and scheduling assistance to student assistants and support staff. Complete required forms, surveys, and reports accurately. Collect and receive monies and provide receipts. Prepare clear and concise administrative and financial records. Set up and maintain databases and files. Adapt to changing technologies and systems. Type and enter data at a speed necessary for successful job performance. Communicate clearly both orally and in writing. Maintain effective working relationships and exhibit sensitivity to diverse populations. Job Work Schedule 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Hours may vary to meet departmental needs. Occasional evenings and weekends required as needed, 12 months per year. Physical Demands and Working Environment Work is primarily performed indoors in a standard office setting with frequent customer interaction. The position requires the ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods, occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist. Light to moderate lifting and operating office equipment are part of the routine.
