Occupational Therapist - Neurorehabilitation & Robotics/Methodist

The role provides occupational therapy services for the treatment of physical and psychological dysfunctions, delivering direct patient care using a variety of sensorimotor, functional, educational, recreational, and social activities designed to help patients regain physical or cognitive functioning. Prefer 3–5 years of experience working with patients with neurological diagnoses and impairments in an outpatient or inpatient setting. The position requires developing skills in wheelchair assessments, pressure mapping, and preparation of Letters of Medical Necessity for custom wheelchair equipment. The therapist will participate in interdisciplinary clinics within the IU Health system, appropriately supervise occupational therapy assistants, support personnel, and students, and participate in related activities in support of patient care, education, and department operations. This part‑time (32 hrs/week) salary/exempt position is with the Neurorehabilitation & Robotics Team at Methodist Hospital and includes cross‑training to provide inpatient coverage at Methodist Hospital. Qualifications Requires a Master’s Degree from an accredited academic program in occupational therapy, or, if foreign trained, graduation from an occupational therapy education program outside the US with educationally equivalent coursework accepted by Indiana PLA. Current certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) is preferred. Requires current license in the State of Indiana. Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
