Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of utility and power infrastructure projects throughout their full lifecycle. This individual will be responsible for managing project scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and client relationships while supporting the growth of the Power Delivery practice through business development, account management, and team leadership.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in power delivery engineering projects (transmission line, distribution, substation, renewables) combined with proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams, developing client relationships, and driving profitable project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Delivery

• Manage multiple transmission and substation engineering projects from proposal through final delivery.

• Develop project execution plans, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and resource forecasts.

• Monitor project performance, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with client expectations.

• Lead project kickoffs, status meetings, risk reviews, and client presentations.

• Track project milestones, financial performance, utilization, backlog, work-in-progress, and accounts receivable.

• Manage project scope changes, contract modifications, and change orders.

• Oversee QA/QC processes and ensure compliance with company standards and client requirements.

• Coordinate with engineering, environmental, survey, permitting, and construction teams to ensure successful project execution.

• Review technical deliverables and ensure alignment with contractual obligations.

Client & Business Development

• Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for utility, EPC, renewable energy, and industrial clients.

• Build and maintain long-term client relationships to drive repeat business opportunities.

• Lead proposal development, scope definition, fee estimation, and contract negotiations.

• Identify opportunities to expand services and support strategic growth initiatives.

• Collaborate with market leaders and technical teams to pursue new projects and increase market share.

• Represent the company at industry events, client meetings, and business development activities.

Leadership & Team Development

• Mentor, develop, and support Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and technical staff.

• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

• Provide guidance on project controls, client management, and professional development.

• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and team growth initiatives.

• Promote company values, safety standards, and professional excellence.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline).

• Professional Engineer (PE) license and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

• 5+ years of experience managing electric utility infrastructure projects (transmission line, distribution, substation, renewables)

• Demonstrated success managing project budgets, schedules, contracts, and multidisciplinary teams.

• Experience working directly with utilities, EPC firms, municipalities, cooperatives, or renewable energy developers.

• Strong understanding of engineering project delivery methods and construction support services.

• Experience with contract negotiation, proposal development, and client management.

• Ability to travel to project sites and client locations as needed.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
