As a Lead Privacy Consultant, you will be a key contributor to our privacy by design program—partnering with business and technology teams, facilitating PIAs and DPIAs, and helping turn complex privacy requirements into practical solutions. This role offers the opportunity to broaden your experience across emerging technologies and global operations while helping strengthen a developing global privacy framework. We are looking for a collaborative, detail-oriented professional who communicates clearly, understands technology, asks thoughtful questions, and takes pride in producing high-quality work. Applicants located near key Transamerica offices are preferred, but remote candidates may also be considered.Job Description ResponsibilitiesSupport the development of Transamerica's enterprise privacy by design playbook, contributing subject matter expertise, drafting guidance materials, and helping translate privacy requirements into practical standards for business and technology teamsFacilitate and review PIAs and DPIAs across domestic and international business activities, ensuring assessments are thorough, consistent, and produce clear, actionable findings and recommendationsManage assigned workstreams within privacy by design initiatives, tracking tasks, dependencies, and deliverables and escalating issues as appropriateTranslate privacy requirements — including global privacy laws, technical standards, and enterprise risk appetite — into practical operational and business outcomesIdentify, assess, and communicate privacy risks, dependencies, and remediation recommendations arising from PIAs, technology reviews, AI use cases, and vendor engagementsPrepare clear, well-structured deliverables, including risk summaries, assessment reports, governance updates, and implementation recommendationsSupport broader privacy operations activities including but not limited to notices, records of processing activities (RoPAs), training enhancements, data subject access requests, process maturity initiatives, and the privacy risk control frameworkContribute to team knowledge through work product quality, attention to detail, and willingness to share expertise and support colleaguesEngage cross-functional stakeholders — including Technology, Product, Legal, Security, and business units — to gather information, drive follow-through, and support timely executionQualificationsBachelor's degree in business field or equivalent experience8 years of privacy, data security and/or other relevant experienceDeep practical understanding of global privacy laws and frameworks, including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, GLBA, and emerging international requirements, with the ability to apply regulatory obligations in a business and technology contextStrong attention to detail, with the ability to produce thorough, precise, and well-structured work productExceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex privacy concepts clearly to technical, legal, and business audiencesAbility to manage assigned work independently, maintain momentum, and drive tasks to completion in ambiguous or evolving environmentsCollaborative working style with a willingness to contribute across a range of team prioritiesPreferred QualificationsGraduate degree in business, law, technology, or risk5 years of direct privacy experience with demonstrated expertise in privacy by design principles and privacy impact assessmentsCIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM, or comparable privacy certification; AI governance, compliance, risk, audit, or project management certification also valuedDemonstrated experience facilitating and reviewing PIAs and DPIAs in complex enterprise environmentsStrong technical fluency, with the ability to engage meaningfully with technology, data architecture, AI systems, and cybersecurity concepts in the context of privacy riskExperience contributing to privacy by design programs or PIA frameworks in a large, complex organizationFinancial services experienceWorking ConditionsHybrid-Office Environment (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays)This job description is not a contract of employment nor for any specific job responsibilities.
