Human Resources InternThe Human Resources Intern supports the daily operations of the HR department by assisting with onboarding, employee records, and various administrative tasks. This role provides hands on experience in multiple areas of HR while helping ensure smooth and efficient processes across the organization. Working under the guidance of HR leadership and specialists, the intern contributes to projects, supports employee communications, and gains exposure to real world HR practices within a fast paced, service driven environment.Knowledge and Skill Requirements:Basic understanding of human resources principles and workplace practicesStrong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with employees and applicantsAbility to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive informationProficiency with basic computer applications including email, spreadsheets, and document toolsStrong organizational skills with attention to detailAbility to manage multiple tasks and follow established proceduresPreferred Qualification(s):Coursework or experience in human resources, business administration, or related fieldsFamiliarity with recruiting, onboarding, or HR systems through school or prior internshipsInterest in pursuing a career in HR or talent managementEducation Requirements:Currently enrolled in a degree program related to human resources, business, or a similar fieldCompletion of introductory HR or business coursework preferredEssential Job Functions:Support onboarding processes by preparing new hire materials and updating employee recordsHelp maintain HR files, documentation, and digital recordsAssist with employee communications, announcements, and HR projectsSupport benefits administration by helping gather information or prepare materialsProvide general administrative support including data entry, filing, and document preparationParticipate in HR meetings, training sessions, and project discussionsEnsure compliance with company policies and confidentiality requirementsLeadership Responsibilities:Support HR team members by completing assigned tasks accurately and on timeDemonstrate initiative by asking questions and seeking opportunities to learnContribute to a positive and professional HR environmentAssist in improving HR processes by offering observations or suggestions when appropriatePreferred Experience and Skills:Experience with office administration or customer serviceStrong problem solving skills and willingness to learn new systemsFamiliarity with HR software or applicant tracking systems is helpful but not requiredAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced environmentPhysical and Mental Requirements:Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working on HR tasksAbility to focus on detailed work with accuracyOccasional visits to branch locations for HR support or onboarding activitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities in a learning environmentWork Environment:Primarily office based with regular interaction across HR, hiring managers, and employeesFast paced environment requiring adaptability and strong communicationStandard business hours with flexibility based on school schedulesMost work is conducted in a comfortable office environment but exposure to site conditions may also occur. Personal protective equipment must be worn in areas as required. Although the work usually is not considered inherently dangerous, employees must be careful while performing onsite services.
