Manufacturing Engineer

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency. This role involves close collaboration with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering teams to troubleshoot manufacturing, tooling, and equipment-related issues while driving process improvements across CNC machining operations.

Responsibilities

• Analyze production data and participate in root cause investigations.
• Implement corrective actions and support Lean Manufacturing initiatives to improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
• Assist with CNC machining process optimization, CNC program modifications, tooling validation, prototype machining, and production trials.
• Utilize Siemens 840D, Rockwell Automation, and Fanuc controls.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
• Support APQP activities, maintain Process FMEAs and Control Plans.
• Conduct process validation and capability studies.
• Participate in equipment and automation projects using AutoCAD.
• Provide technical support and training to production personnel.
• Promote safe manufacturing practices and implement ergonomic and safety improvements.

Essential Skills

• 3-5 years of manufacturing engineering experience in a CNC machining or automotive manufacturing environment.
• Experience with GD&T, Siemens, programming, AutoCAD, APQP, PFMEA, control plans, and SAP.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline is preferred.
• Experience with Siemens, Fanuc, and Rockwell Automation.
• Experience in failure mode and effects analysis, process development, and working with cutting tools and fixturing.
• Familiarity with CNC programming and machining centers.
• Exposure to APQP, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
• Experience in CNC machining and SAP.

Work Environment

The work hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with some flexibility, allowing an earlier start if desired, such as at 7:00 AM. The role offers stability in the heavy-duty trucking industry, distinct from the typical automotive sector, providing a sense of security. Additionally, employees gain access to online learning platforms like Udemy after six months of employment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $52.88/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
