Production Manager

Aerotek is seeking to hire a Production Manager to oversee daily operations in a fast-paced food manufacturing facility. Ensuring efficient production, strict adherence to food safety and quality standards, and a safe work environment. This role leads and develops production teams, drives process improvements, and ensures that production goals are consistently met while maintaining regulatory compliance. The position requires bilingual fluency in Spanish to effectively communicate with a diverse workforce.

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day plant operations, including production, packaging, sanitation, and warehousing activities.

• Support and execute production planning and scheduling to ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.

• Monitor productivity, labor utilization, waste levels, and overall plant performance to drive continuous improvement.

• Ensure full compliance with OSHA, GMP, HACCP, USDA, and internal company food safety and quality requirements.

• Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, leads, and production employees to build a high-performing team.

• Conduct regular floor audits to verify adherence to quality, safety, and operational standards.

• Partner closely with Quality, Maintenance, and Sanitation teams to resolve production issues and minimize downtime.

• Review production metrics, KPIs, and performance data, and prepare clear operational reports for plant leadership.

• Coordinate with inventory and supply chain functions to ensure materials and supplies are available to meet production plans.

• Ensure regulatory compliance across all production processes, including documentation and audit readiness.

• Work on the production floor alongside operations teams to maintain smooth line performance and respond quickly to issues.

Qualifications:

• Bilingual fluency in Spanish, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the production workforce.

• Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing leadership experience in food production, meat processing, or a regulated manufacturing environment.

• Proven experience managing production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

• Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, USDA, SQF, FDA, and OSHA regulations and their application in daily operations.

• Experience in manufacturing operations management and overseeing day-to-day plant activities.

• Experience in quality control and quality assurance within a manufacturing environment.

• Understanding of OSHA and workplace safety compliance requirements.

• Experience tracking KPIs and performance metrics to evaluate and improve operational performance.

• Ability to support budgeting efforts and drive cost reduction initiatives.

• Knowledge of inventory and supply chain management principles.

• Capacity planning experience to align production capabilities with demand.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and hold teams accountable.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments and levels.

This is a Permanent position based out of Newark, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
