Job Summary Pleasant Hill Academy is seeking a caring, dependable, and teachable Assistant Teacher Intern to support our preschool classrooms. This internship is ideal for individuals pursuing a future in education, childcare, or ministry who desire hands-on classroom experience in a Christ-centered environment.

This role focuses on learning, growth, and mentorship , while actively assisting teachers with daily classroom activities and student engagement.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teachers with daily classroom routines and transitions
• Support students with activities, playtime, and basic learning tasks
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
• Engage with children in a positive, patient, and attentive manner
• Observe and learn classroom management and teaching strategies
• Assist with light cleaning (toys, tables, materials) throughout the day
• Support nap time, snack time, and outdoor play as needed

Qualifications

• Interest in education, childcare, or child development
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Reliable and punctual with a flexible schedule
• Patient, nurturing, and able to engage with young children
• Comfortable working in a Christian, faith-based environment
• Previous childcare experience is a plus, but not required

Schedule / Availability

• MondayFriday between 7:00 AM 6:00 PM
• Flexible shifts available
• Schedules may vary week to week based on classroom needs
