Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cardiac Med Intermediate (Telemetry) position at a Level 1 Trauma & Burn Center in Springfield, MO, requiring at least 1 year of inpatient cardiac telemetry experience and a MO or compact RN license.

Details

• Cardiac Med Intermediate Unit 4A in a 32-bed inpatient hospital setting
• Patient population consists of cardiac and med/surg patients
• Patient ratios vary: 1:5–1:6 on days, 1:6–1:8 on nights (estimates)
• Equipment includes Alaris pumps, telemetry monitors, and lift equipment
• EMR: Epic
• Night shift schedule, 19:00–07:30
• 13-week assignment
• Weekend hours required as determined by the facility
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required on a rotational basis

Requirements

• Active RN license in Missouri or compact license qualifying for MO licensure
• Valid U.S. Social Security Number required
• Current BLS certification from AHA required
• NIHSS certification required prior to start (may be considered without it at time of submission)
• 4 trauma credits required or must be completed within the first two weeks of the assignment
• ACLS from AHA preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient cardiac telemetry experience required
• Experience and competence in drug titration required
• No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months
• Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift, with frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
• Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs and pinch up to 15 lbs

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care using the nursing process
• Coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes
• High-risk exposure to blood and body fluids is expected in this role
• The facility is a Level 1 Trauma & Burn Center and a Level 2 Stroke Center
• Black scrubs required; torn clothing and open-toed shoes are not permitted
• Night shift orientation takes place on day shift; candidates must be available for the entire orientation week
• RTO of up to 5 days is allowed but must be made up during the assignment; no RTO approved during the first week of the assignment
• Only 1 holiday RTO request is allowed per assignment
• Flu vaccination or a Mercy-approved exemption is required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but are subject to a reduced bill rate
