Responsibilities Apply structural engineering codes, standards, and engineering judgment in the analysis and design of structural systems Analyze and design industrial buildings, equipment foundations, pipe racks, crane runway systems, material handling structures, equipment support structures, retaining structures, and miscellaneous steel and concrete systems Evaluate existing structures and facilities and develop modifications, repairs, strengthening systems, and additions to support new or revised operational requirements Conduct and oversee structural analysis and design using software such as STAAD, TEDDS, RISA, and spMats for industrial buildings, foundations, equipment support structures, masonry structures, and miscellaneous steel and concrete systems Establish structural design criteria, technical approaches, and project-specific design requirements Prepare and review structural calculations, specifications, drawings, and details for steel, concrete, masonry, and other structural systems Provide technical direction and quality oversight for structural designs, calculations, models, drawings, and specifications prepared by others Serve as the structural discipline lead and primary point of contact when coordinating with project managers, other discipline leads, clients, and contractors Serve as Engineer of Record for assigned projects and construction packages as required Coordinate structural design requirements and project criteria with architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, process, and other project disciplines Manage structural engineering scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables for assigned projects Perform or oversee field investigations, existing-condition assessments, and construction-phase structural support Train and mentor less experienced engineers and designers Develop structural engineering labor-hour estimates for ongoing projects and new proposals Participate in proposal development, client communication, and business development activities as appropriate What We Offer Sign-on bonus available for eligible candidates 100% employee-owned firm with access to ownership opportunities beginning within your first year Competitive compensation with multiple income streams, including performance bonuses and employee ownership 55% of company profits distributed back to employees through bonuses Flexible and hybrid work schedule options Diverse portfolio of commercial, industrial, institutional, energy, and renewable energy projects Comprehensive benefits beginning on day one, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance 401(k) with company match beginning the first of the month following your start date Collaborative environment that supports mentorship, technical development, leadership growth, and career advancement Access to on-site amenities including a fitness center, café, recreation areas, and employee events Pittsburgh Office Perks Our Pittsburgh headquarters offers a workplace designed to support connection, wellness, and fun Full-service fitness center On-site café serving breakfast and lunch Recreation areas featuring ping pong, pool, cornhole, and pickleball Annual summer picnic, themed happy hours, and team-building events Community involvement opportunities, including trail workdays, pollinator garden maintenance, and charity fundraising events Preferred Qualifications Experience evaluating, modifying, and expanding operating industrial and manufacturing facilities.
