About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead its not-for-profit hospice and palliative care organization. The successful candidate will be a mission-driven, business-savvy leader with a strong operational background, responsible for advancing the organization's mission and guiding it through a period of leadership transition, evolving reimbursement models, and increasing competition. The CEO will work closely with the Board of Trustees, leadership team, employees, donors, and community partners to ensure the organization remains financially strong, operationally effective, and deeply connected to the communities it serves. Key responsibilities include organizational transformation, financial stewardship, talent development, and relationship building, with a focus on strengthening organizational trust, fostering a high-performing culture, and developing a strategic vision for the future. Applicants for the CEO position at the company should have approximately 10 years of senior leadership experience in a relevant healthcare or nonprofit setting, with a proven track record of leading complex organizations through transformation. Strong financial acumen, experience in budget oversight, and a background in developing high-performing teams are essential. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder engagement skills, and experience in managing labor relations, particularly in unionized environments. A deep understanding of healthcare policies and regulations, particularly those related to post-acute, palliative, and end-of-life care, is preferred. The role requires an inspirational leader with high emotional intelligence, energy, and creativity, who embodies the values of humility, compassion, integrity, and servant leadership.
