Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN GI Lab for a travel nursing job in Highland Park, Illinois. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: GI Lab Discipline: RN Start Date: 08/16/2026 Duration: 8 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Summary The Gastroenterology Laboratory (GI LAB) position is located in Highland Park, Illinois. This role involves assisting physicians during gastrointestinal and endoscopy procedures in a fast-paced procedural environment. The healthcare professional will support preoperative and postoperative care, with responsibilities including handling equipment such as Olympus scopes and endoscopy supplies. The position offers flexibility in start times within a 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. window and requires adherence to procedural standards. Job Details Schedule: 8-hour daytime shifts, 36-40 hours per week Required Qualifications: Active Illinois license, CPR, ACLS, Epic Electronic Medical Record experience; at least 2 years of experience in GI Lab, Endoscopy, PACU, or Telemetry Admission and Recovery; ability to pass an EKG test with 80% or higher on the first day; experience with Olympus scopes and GI supplies from well-known manufacturers; highly preferred experience in preoperative and postoperative patient care in a procedural setting. Preferred Qualifications: Epic EMR experience, procedural nurse background, and ability to support a high-volume case environment. Float: Float rotation may be required to other nearby facilities such as Skokie, Evanston, or Glenbrook. Weekend Requirements: None; facility is closed on holidays, so guaranteed hours may vary. Additional Information: The candidate will assist during approximately 30-60 cases per day, supporting physicians with moderate sedation. Orientation sessions are held on Mondays, and credentials are due by Thursday prior to the start date.
