The primary mission of the Project Controls organization is to support the execution of projects by ensuring project managers, project teams, and other key stakeholders are provided with detailed project analysis, information, systems, and processes needed to effectively manage project forecasts, schedules, and other essential project information to execute projects safely, on time, and on budget. Primary Duties and Responsibilities – Schedulers Lead baseline schedule creation and approval effort in collaboration with the project team. Develop, maintain and manage project schedules for assigned major or tactical capital projects alongside Project Team Members and Contractors. Maintain project schedules, including progress updates, revise forecasts, and evaluate impact of delays. Communicate status of schedule and key risk areas to members of the project management team. Apply thorough understanding of the WBS and corresponding project estimate to lead schedule planning efforts. Possess advanced knowledge of planning for all phases (Permitting, Land, Survey, Construction) of pipelines and facilities construction projects, identifying event order. Determine critical paths required to meet overall project completion dates, modify them based on prevailing conditions, and consult with team members to develop workarounds. Work with Contractors to ensure schedule compliance per Williams’ project controls requirements. Perform detailed review of contractor schedule submittals, including baseline and progress updates. Project Schedules i. Schedules will be built and maintained in Primavera P6 utilizing the latest template and WBS. The schedule template may be added or reduced to manage the project’s scope; however, the schedule will contain enough detail that someone unfamiliar with the project could read it and understand the scope and strategy: what is being installed, when it is being installed, and what the critical path is to completion. ii. All project schedules will be updated monthly at a minimum to align with the issuance of project reports. After status updates are entered, the schedule will be analyzed to determine the impact to the critical path and mitigation plans created if necessary. iii. Update cycles mainly depend on the current phase of the project. Prior to project construction, monthly updates are the minimum requirement; however, once a project is under construction, weekly updates could be expected. iv. All project schedules will be baselined at each gate, with the G3 baseline assigned as the primary baseline in P6. Baselines should be labeled to identify the corresponding gate. A baseline will be saved after each update cycle and can be assigned as a secondary baseline (up to a maximum of 10 baselines). v. After each update cycle the analyst will be responsible for producing the overall project schedule and publishing it. vi.
