Key Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans based on thorough patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
• Perform triage, treatment, evaluation, and documentation in compliance with established guidelines, utilizing evidence-based practices in a fast-paced emergency environment.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, and psychosocial or spiritual support needs.
• Identify barriers to effective communication based on psychosocial, literacy, financial, and cultural considerations; provide patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstance.
• Effectively delegate patient care tasks to ancillary personnel; may precept student nurses and new hires.
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality, adhere to infection control and safety procedures, and actively contribute to performance improvement and quality initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Current and active Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Current TNCC, STABLE, and NRP certifications, or ability to obtain each within 1 year of hire.
• Current PALS or ENPC certification, or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Minimum of two (2) years of hospital nursing experience.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• One (1) or more years of Emergency Department (ED) or Critical Care nursing experience.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
