Housekeeping Manager Sublette County Hospital District Title: Housekeeping Manager Description: The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for the overall management and operation of the Sublette County Health (SCH) Environmental Services housekeeping and laundry operations throughout SCH. Areas of responsibility apply to all SCH services lines, including the SCH Critical Access Hospital, Heritage Home, Pinedale/Marbleton clinics, administrative offices and residential real estate assets. Provides direct supervision and oversight of the SCH Environmental Services (EVS) staff to ensure a clean, safe, sanitary, and healing environment that supports patient care, resident care, staff safety, infection prevention and control, and regulatory compliance. Provides leadership and oversight to SCH Environmental Services staff to ensure Departmental goals, quality standards, productivity expectations, and budget objectives are achieved. Supervision Received Reports to the SCH Director of Facilities. Work is performed within established guidelines, procedures, and supervisory oversight. The position follows defined processes and refers unusual or complex matters to senior management. Responsibilities 1. Plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates all SCH Environmental Services operations throughout SCH facilities. 2. Provides leadership and supervision to the SCH Housekeeping Leads, ensuring daily operations are completed efficiently and in accordance with hospital standards and regulatory requirements. 3. Develops departmental goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives that support organizational strategic priorities. 4. Ensures all patient care, resident care, clinical, public, and administrative areas are maintained in a clean, sanitary, safe, and attractive condition. 5. Oversees departmental staffing, scheduling, productivity, employee engagement, and workforce planning to ensure adequate coverage. 6. Trains, coaches, disciplines, and evaluates employees in accordance with SCH policies and procedures. 7. Conducts performance evaluations and oversees employee development, competency validation, corrective action plans, and succession planning. 8. Collaborates with SCH Infection Prevention and Control, Nursing, Facilities, Nutrition Services and other departments to ensure compliance with infection preventionstandards and environmental cleaning protocols. 9. Establishes and maintains quality assurance programs including inspections, environmental rounds, audits, and corrective action plans. 10. Monitors cleaning effectiveness and department performance metrics and implements process improvements to enhance patient satisfaction, safety, and operational efficiency. 11. Ensures all housekeeping staff are properly trained in infection prevention and control, chemical safety, equipment operation, waste handling, linen processing, and emergency procedures. 12. Oversees laundry operations to ensure safe, efficient handling and processing of soiled and clean linen in accordance with infection prevention standards. 13. Maintains compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including Wyoming Department of Health (WDOH), Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Center for Medicare Services (CMS), and other healthcare Environmental standards. 14. Investigates and resolves environmental concerns, safety issues, and customer service complaints in a timely and professional manner. 15. Oversees departmental equipment maintenance and replacement planning. 16. Recommends capital purchases and improvements necessary to support departmental operations. 17. Develops, manages, and monitors departmental operating and capital budgets. Ensures responsible utilization of supplies, labor, and financial resources. 18. Reviews purchasing needs and approves supply and equipment orders while maintaining appropriate inventory levels. 19. Participates in facility construction, renovation, and infection control risk assessment planning related to environmental services functions. 20. Serves as a resource during emergency preparedness activities, disaster response situations, and infection outbreak management events. 21. Promotes a culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and exceptionalcustomer service. 22. Interacts professionally with physicians, patients/families, and other healthcare staff. 23. Communicates the mission, ethics, and goals of SCH. Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner. 24. Demonstrates responsibility for knowing and adhering to SCH policies and procedures. 25. Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities may be adjusted or reassigned to ensure compliance, operational efficiency, internal controls, and workload balance. Qualifications 1. Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Environmental Services Management, or a related field preferred. 2. High School Diploma or equivalent required. 3. Minimum five (5) years of progressive housekeeping or environmental services experience, preferably in a healthcare setting. 4. Minimum three (3) years of management or supervisory experience preferred. 5. Experience with healthcare environmental services regulations, infection prevention standards, and quality improvement programs preferred. 6. Professional certification in Environmental Services, Healthcare Environmental Services, or related field preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 1. Thorough knowledge of healthcare environmental services practices, safety standards, and infection prevention principles. 2. Knowledge of regulatory requirements including WDOH, OSHA, HIPAA, SDS, CMS, and healthcare sanitation standards. 3. Strong leadership, employee engagement, coaching, and team development skills. 4. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 5. Ability to develop and manage departmental budgets and operational plans. 6. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. 7. Ability to prioritize multiple projects and operational responsibilities simultaneously. 8. Strong organizational and time-management skills. 9. Ability to effectively interact with patients, residents, visitors, physicians, leadership, and staff at all levels of the organization. 10. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business software applications. 11. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in decision-making. 12. Ability to promote a cooperative, customer-focused, and team-oriented workenvironment. Working Conditions 1. May require working on evenings, weekends, or holidays. 2. Possible contact with a variety of people including prisoners and people with mental, emotional, and physical disabilities. 4. Medical office, exam room, laboratory, imaging, emergency room, and professional practice settings. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions common to rural healthcare environments. 5. Work environment involves exposure to unusual elements, potentially dangerous materials, and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment. 6. May require travel between SCH site locations. Physical Demands 1. Varied activities include moving, reaching, bending, and lifting. 2. Essential functions may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation in accordance with applicable law. 3. Requires manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. 4. May require standing and moving for extended periods of time and occasional lifting or moving of items, generally up to fifty pounds, with or without assistance. 5.
