Sr. Financial Analyst - Capital and Resolution Planning & Analysis

Responsibilities Work with Executive Management on Northern Trust’s share repurchase program, other capital distribution decisions, and various capital efficiency initiatives. Update, implement, and communicate capital allocation methodologies and be a subject matter expert across the organization. Conduct a range of financial analyses with both internal and external data, which may include topics in corporate finance, capital adequacy, and capital management. Support the completion of Northern Trust’s annual capital plan and resolution plan submissions. Evaluate regulatory and internal requirements around capital adequacy/ CCAR. Prepare and deliver BAU and ad‑hoc reports and presentations. As subject area expert, provide comprehensive, in‑depth consulting and leadership to team and partners across the organization at a high technical level. Role is balanced between high level operational execution and development, and execution of strategic direction of business function activities. Knowledge Analytical and problem‑solving skills required to evaluate financial results and projections across all financial statements. Effective written and verbal communication skills are necessary to present relevant information to senior management and business unit officers. Strong personal computer skills and analytics tools usage (Power BI, SQL, Excel, Word and PowerPoint) are required to perform analyses and communicate financial information. Strong accounting (GAAP), reporting and financial analysis usually acquired through an advanced degree program or related work experience is required. Experience 7+ years relevant experience in financial or related industry is required. Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required. Advanced degree or industry recognized credentials (e.g. CFA, CPA) is preferred. Working Model Hybrid – balanced between working in the office and working from home. Salary Range $83,100 - 141,300 USD Benefits Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay.
