Medical Assistant - CMA / MA

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides clinical and administrative support in a healthcare setting, ensuring smooth patient flow and delivery of quality care. Performs vital signs, specimen collection, clerical duties, and assists physicians with procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Execute patient care tasks such as venipuncture, EKGs, and assisting patients with walking and dressing.
• Collect and process specimens, perform point-of-care testing, and prepare patients for exams.
• Assist physicians during procedures, relay instructions, and record vital signs and patient information.
• Manage clerical duties including updating medical records, scheduling surgeries or procedures, and verifying insurance information.
• Maintain sterile equipment, restock supplies, and ensure compliance with infection control policies.
• Follow safety standards and document processes related to medication storage, sterilization, and inventory management.

Qualifications:

• Hold a Medical Assistant certificate from an accredited school and a valid BLS certification from AHA.
• Demonstrate proficiency in clinical skills such as phlebotomy, specimen collection, and vital sign measurement.
• Possess effective communication skills to interact with diverse patient populations.
• Be able to adapt to a dynamic healthcare environment and maintain confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
