Quality Assurance Technician

Quality Assurance Technician The Quality Assurance Technician ensures that precision machined and assembled components meet strict engineering, customer, and regulatory requirements. This role focuses heavily on calibrating gauges and measurement devices, performing detailed inspections, and maintaining accurate quality records to support a high-precision manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Inspect machined and assembled parts using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs). Compare finished components against engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to verify conformance. Document inspection results thoroughly and maintain accurate and up-to-date quality records. Perform routine and corrective gauge calibration across all measurement devices in the facility, with a strong emphasis on reducing the existing calibration backlog. Update and maintain calibration logs, certificates, and tracking systems to ensure full traceability. Identify out-of-tolerance gauges and coordinate timely adjustments, repairs, or replacements as needed. Develop and maintain a reliable calibration schedule to prevent future backlogs and ensure continuous compliance. Assist in root cause analysis for nonconforming parts and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Support production teams by providing guidance on proper measurement techniques and quality standards. Participate in internal and customer audits, contributing to the preparation, execution, and follow-up activities. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality, process capability, and inspection efficiency. Ensure compliance with ISO/TS quality standards and internal company procedures at all times. Essential Skills At least 2 years of experience in a quality-focused role within a manufacturing or similar environment. Hands-on gauge calibration experience across a range of measurement devices. Proficiency with precision measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, and gauges. Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in measurements and documentation. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. Familiarity with quality assurance practices and inspection processes. Capability to maintain organized calibration logs, certificates, and quality records. Comfort working in a structured environment that follows ISO/TS quality standards and formal procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with CMM programming and operation. Exposure to or experience with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process). Background in precision manufacturing, particularly in components or assemblies for industrial applications. Experience supporting internal and customer audits. Participation in continuous improvement or quality enhancement initiatives. Why Work Here? The position operates on a first shift schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The environment is highly focused on quality, with extensive use of precision measurement tools, gauges, and CMMs, and emphasizes collaboration between quality and production teams. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Valley City, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $56160.00 - $60320.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
