Job Description

Job Summary:
The CT Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality computed tomography procedures in accordance with prescribed protocols. They ensure accurate imaging, maintain equipment calibration, and adhere to safety guidelines to support diagnostic needs.

Responsibilities:

• Operate CT imaging equipment utilizing appropriate kV and mA techniques to produce diagnostically superior images.
• Conduct daily quality control calibration checks on all imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance before patient procedures.
• Inject patients with radiopharmaceuticals following physician orders and established protocols, verifying activity levels prior to administration.
• Document all department activities accurately, including logs, manuals, charge forms, and reporting equipment issues to maintain regulatory compliance.
• Perform quality control, quality assurance, and radiation safety tests, adhering to ALARA principles to minimize exposure.
• Maintain and retrieve patient imaging data, including films and electronic files, for radiologist interpretation.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of a JCERT-accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
• Hold an active New York State License (L.R.T.) as a Radiologic Technologist.
• Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography and CT.
• Possess at least 1 year of CT experience demonstrating proficiency in imaging procedures and patient care.
• Maintain current BLS certification.
