Behavioral Health Supervisor- Behavioral Health Outpatient Services

Job Overview This leadership position supports the Behavioral Health Outpatient & Case Management Services Division and offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact within the Fairfax-Falls Church community. The selected candidate will join a highly skilled, multi-disciplinary team dedicated to providing comprehensive, community-based behavioral health services to adults across the catchment area. Key Responsibilities Provide clinical and administrative supervision to a Behavioral Health Outpatient (BHOP) Team serving adults age 18+ with co‑occurring disorders, substance use disorders, severe mental illness, and developmental disabilities. Oversee day‑to‑day program operations, facilitate weekly multi‑disciplinary team meetings, support staff development and performance management. Coordinate recruitment, interview panels, onboarding, and mentoring of new employees. Ensure compliance with state and federal documentation, quality assurance, and billing standards. Partner closely with leadership on site management initiatives and provide operational support to the BHOP Manager as needed. Develop, implement, and monitor program policies, procedures, and quality initiatives. Act as liaison to community agencies and maintain communication for individuals requiring multiple services. Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college with at least a master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or nursing plus three years of clinical experience, or a doctoral degree plus one year of clinical experience. Valid driver’s license with fewer than six demerit points (or equivalent). Current license to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia (Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner, or Licensed Nurse Practitioner). Comprehensive knowledge of risk assessment, bio‑psycho‑social assessments, crisis intervention, case management, therapy, and evidence‑based practices. Strong ability to build effective partnerships with clients, families, hospitals, care providers, and community agencies. Exceptional engagement, outreach, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to work independently in high‑stress situations and lead and collaborate as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications Experience in clinical and administrative supervision. Certification in Clinical Supervision. Experience working with co‑occurring disorders, substance use disorders, and the severely mentally ill. Experience in crisis management and evidence‑based individual and group treatment. Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC). Computer and MS Office proficiency. Employment Standards International background checks, TB screening, National Provider Identifier, and ability to report for duty during inclement weather or other emergencies.
