Housing Monitor

Schedule/Hours: Over night and week-end shifts 25 - 29 hours per weekThis position is responsible for:Accepts and processes residents staying in shelter overnight; monitors the activity of residents on an assigned shift ensuring safety, security and compliance to house rules; maintains accurate and complete records and logs containing pertinent information; ensures that shelter is maintained in a neat and proper order.Key Responsibilities:Monitors the activities of the shelter residents ensuring safety and compliance with house rulesMonitors cameras and makes periodic rounds of entire facilityRecords unique situations occuring on assigned shiftResponds to emergencies in a calm manner and initiates appropriate corrective action in accordance with established policies and proceduresChecks clients into shelter; prepares and monitors client intake cardsWakes up clients at desiginated time and ensures that all residents are out of the shelter at designated timePhysical Requirements and Working Conditions:Ability to meet attendance requirementsAbility to read, write, and communicate the English languageAbility to respond to emergency situations quickly and calmly while maintaining control and initiating the proper corrective actionAbility to perform combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basisLimited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work timeWork requires performance of duties in social services environment where exposure to communicable and infectious diseases are possibleEmployee Benefits:Paid time offRetirementEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or G.E.D.andone year experience performing security work or working in a social service environment,orany equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:NoneEqual Opportunity Employer: Veterans|Disabled #J-18808-Ljbffr
