Subject Tutor - Learning Center (Bethlehem or Online)

Subject Tutor – Learning Center (Bethlehem or Online) Part‑time (approximately 10–25 hours per week). Tutors support student success by using a personalized approach to help each student gain a deeper understanding of course material, devise effective learning strategies, engage in critical thinking, and acquire additional academic skills to reach educational goals. Responsibilities Use a personalized approach to help each student gain a deeper understanding of course material, devise effective learning strategies, engage in critical thinking, and acquire additional academic skills to reach educational goals. Meet with students individually or in small groups on campus and/or online. Participate in College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) training and obtain certification within one year of employment. Attend staff meetings and ongoing professional development activities. Promptly respond to correspondence from Learning Center staff and maintain complete and accurate records. Perform any additional responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Thorough understanding of the subject(s) that will be tutored. Associate degree or higher in the discipline or a related field from a regionally accredited institution. Grade of B or above in each course the candidate intends to tutor. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, strong analytical skills, interest in working with a diverse population of students, patience, and a desire to help others learn and succeed.
