Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Chemical Dependency Counselor II, you will help patients and their families across all age populations (child, adolescent/teen, adult, and geriatric) struggling with chemical dependency to receive comprehensive counseling services and support so they can achieve recovery, improved well-being, and a path towards a healthier future.

Every day you will provide individual, family, and group counseling, conduct thorough assessments, perform case management, and manage chart documentation and utilization review. You will be expected to consistently uphold patient rights, maintain privacy, incorporate cultural and ethnic factors into care, make appropriate referrals, and educate patients and families on their needs and treatment plans.

To be successful in this role you must possess a Bachelor's degree in an Allied Health field (e.g., Psychology, Counseling, Social Work), have at least one year of experience in a Psychiatric/Chemical Dependency setting, and hold a current Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) certification in CA along with Basic Life Support (CPR) certification. You will also need excellent verbal and written communication skills, computer proficiency, the ability to work effectively under stress, manage multiple tasks, and maintain a high degree of accuracy in procedural detail and record-keeping.

Job Requirements

Required:

• Current CA Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor

• Current Healthcare provider BLS Card

Preferred:

• A minimum of one (1) year's experience in a Psychiatric/Chemical Dependency setting is preferred

• Bachelor's degree in an Allied Health Field such as Psychology, Counseling, Social Work

Pay Range

$34.00 - $50.58 /hour
