Warehouse Order Selector - Anniston (8AM start)

Order Selection Team MemberIn this fast-paced role, you are the boots on the ground and responsible for accurately and efficiently pulling customer orders within the warehouse. This role requires strategic thinking and attention to detail while palletizing orders and ensuring they are placed in the correct assigned locations. You will operate motorized equipment including Electric Pallet Jacks while ensuring that you safely and accurately move product within the warehouse. A fully sponsored benefit for all UNFI associates.Medical, dental and vision benefits after 30 days of employmentPaid Leave Time earnedEven more perks: 401K with company match, tuition reimbursement, wellness program that puts money back in your pocket for living a healthy lifestyle!Position Requirements:Must be 18 years or olderWarehouse experience selecting is preferred but not requiredLifting objects weighing from less than 20 to 90lbs consistentlyOccasionally pushing, reaching, pulling, and grippingMust have the ability to work in various temperaturesAvailable for work on SundaysJob Responsibilities and Accountabilities:Identify the pick locations and safely pick the itemsInspects assigned equipment for safety issuesPicks the correct item and quantity, checking UPC's or item descriptionsPlaces labels on the side of the casesShrink wraps and labels with correct truck, stop and other required information.Stages pallets in appropriate bay and builds a stable palletImmediately informs a supervisor or manager of any potential safety threats, any violation of company policy, keeps area clean and debris out of work areaOperates pallet jack/pushcart in a safe and efficient mannerGood judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.Job Requirements:Warehouse/Operations preferred but not requiredUnderstanding of WMS preferred but not requiredGood judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.Knowledge:Understanding of Safety guidelinesStrong knowledge of applicable Bakco functions and RF systemsSkills/Abilities:Ability to select at established minimum rate for departmentAstute, close attention to detailUnderstand and properly follow all selecting procedures and verbal instructions in your respective area: grocery, repack, cooler/freezer.Possess an understanding of procedures in other areas of the warehouse for a more global understanding of all processesPhysical Environment/Demands:Ability to lift up to 90 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Perishable Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Grocery OperationAbility to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for maintenance and service procedures.Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties.
