Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Manual Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and setting up manual machining equipment to produce precision metal components. Your expertise in reading blueprints, interpreting mechanical drawings, and utilizing various machining tools will be essential to ensure high-quality production standards. Duties

  • Set up and operate manual machining equipment such as lathes, and mills to manufacture and repair parts according to specifications
  • Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to ensure accurate fabrication
  • Use precision measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) for quality control and measurement verification
  • Perform manual machining tasks including turning, milling, grinding, drilling, and boring with attention to detail
  • Maintain and troubleshoot machining tools and hand tools to ensure optimal performance during production runs
  • Assist with machine setup procedures, including tooling selection and fixture installation for manual operations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Manual Machinist or similar role within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of machining tools, hand tools, and machine setup procedures
  • Machine with tolerances of .0005 & .001.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, and understanding GD&T specifications
  • Ability to interpret mechanical blueprints accurately and perform precise measurements using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other measurement instruments
  • Basic math skills for calculations related to measurements and tolerances
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow efficiency
  • Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively in a manufacturing setting
  • Have personal machinist tools.
