School Bus Driver
Reports To: Transportation Director
Job Goal: To provide safe and efficient transportation of students
Work Year: 176 student attendance days
Work Hours: Morning and afternoon (approximately 2 hours during each session)
Salary: Probationary starting rate $25.00 per hour
Benefits: IMRF provided and 10 sick days/1.5 personal days
Performance Responsibilities:
- Maintains assigned schedule
- Transports only authorized students
- Discharges students only at authorized stops
- Maintains discipline when students are on bus
- Obeys all traffic laws
- Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses
- Notifies the proper authority in case of equipment failure
- Keeps assigned bus clean and fueled
- Reports all accidents and complete required reports
- Follows all department procedures and policies outlined in handbook
Qualifications or Requirements/Perks:
To drive must have a valid Illinois Driver's License with CDL endorsement and Illinois school bus permit & pass criminal background check- WE WILL TRAIN!
