Human Resources Generalist

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented HR Generalist to support day-to-day HR operations and help build consistent, scalable people processes across the organization. About the Role The HR Generalist will be a hands-on, process-oriented member of the HR team, with a strong focus on employee onboarding, HR operations, employee records, compliance, and process improvement . You will help ensure a professional and consistent employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle, from onboarding through offboarding. Key Responsibilities Employee Onboarding Own and coordinate the end-to-end employee onboarding process. Manage onboarding documentation, checklists, and employee files. Coordinate new-hire paperwork, HR system setup, payroll, benefits, and I-9 requirements. Partner with hiring managers and internal teams to ensure new hires are prepared for their first day. Coordinate new-hire orientation and onboarding activities. Track onboarding completion and ensure documentation is accurate and timely. Continuously improve and streamline the onboarding experience. HR Operations Maintain accurate employee records and personnel files. Process employee changes including new hires, transfers, promotions, compensation changes, and terminations. Maintain HR policies, procedures, templates, and documentation. Respond to routine employee and manager HR questions. Manage employment verification and other HR administrative requests. Employee Lifecycle & Engagement Support day-to-day employee and management HR needs. Coordinate employee offboarding and termination processes. Support performance reviews and other employee lifecycle processes. Assist with employee engagement initiatives and company-wide HR programs. Help ensure a consistent and positive employee experience. HR Compliance & Process Improvement Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment requirements. Maintain required employee documentation and records. Support I-9 processes, HR audits, and compliance reviews. Document HR processes and create SOPs, workflows, checklists, and trackers. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, and consistency. Maintain high standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and data integrity. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience in an HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, People Operations, or similar role. Experience managing employee onboarding. Strong understanding of core HR processes and employee lifecycle administration. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle confidential information professionally. Strong Microsoft Office or Google Workspace skills. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with employees and managers. Strong problem-solving and process-improvement skills. Preferred Experience in a startup, fast-growing, or entrepreneurial environment. California specific HR experience. Experience creating HR SOPs, workflows, and process documentation. Familiarity with U.S. employment compliance requirements.
