Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night, 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years ER experience License: Missouri or Compact License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC Must-Have: - Emergency Room RN Ratios: 1:4 - First-timers accepted - Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed - Weekend requirement: 8 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling period - Work settings: General Emergency Department, Combined Adult/Pedi - Management of dysrhythmias, management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure - IV therapy and phlebotomy, including central line care/management - Continuous IV sedation and IV vasopressors - Respiratory management including CPAP/BiPAP and ventilated patients - Knowledge of isolation precautions and triage Description: This role involves working in a non-trauma emergency department. The setting is a primary stroke and STEMI center. Typical patient diagnoses include a range of emergency situations. Occasional OB patients may be seen and managed until transferred. The RN will perform necessary assessments and interventions for patients across all age groups, including neonates, infants, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. An important part of the role will include interpretations of dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases. Effective collaboration and communication within an interdisciplinary team is essential. The position may require floating between departments, units, and facilities as needed. Regular participation in orientation and ongoing education will be necessary. Candidates will be expected to manage and support patient care effectively in a fast-paced environment. Adherence to policies and procedures, including safety regulations, is required. The role will contribute to high-quality patient care and positive outcomes in emergency situations.
