Meat Cutter / Butcher

A direct-hire opportunity is available for a Meat Cutter / Butcher in Miami, FL, with a very successful restaurant group that has been in Miami for over 30 years. This role is ideal for a hands-on food preparation professional with 1-2 years of experience who takes pride in precise cuts, product quality, customer service, and sanitation.

This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys working with customers, learning about meat quality and preparation, and being part of a positive food service culture.

Responsibilities

- Cut, trim, bone, tie, grind, portion, and prepare beef, pork, poultry, fish, and other meat products according to quality and presentation standards.
- Wrap, weigh, label, price, package, store, and rotate meat products to support freshness, inventory control, and waste reduction.
- Assist customers by explaining cuts, recommending products, preparing special orders, and promoting items based on customer needs.
- Prepare and arrange meat cuts and products in display cases to create an attractive and appealing presentation.
- Receive, inspect, and store meat deliveries while verifying quality, freshness, and proper handling.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area while following food safety, equipment safety, and proper storage procedures.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary: $45,000 to $52,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Cut, trim, portion, and prepare meat products for retail, production, or food service use.
- Operate knives, saws, grinders, and other meat-cutting tools safely and accurately.
- Support customer service, product presentation, labeling, packaging, and daily production needs.
- Maintain sanitation, food safety, product quality, and proper storage standards.

- 1-2 years of experience as a Meat Cutter, Butcher, Meat Processor, or similar food preparation role.
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of safe meat handling practices.
- Ability to follow cutting specifications, portion guidelines, quality standards, and customer special-order requests.
- Understanding of food safety, sanitation, product rotation, labeling, and proper storage procedures.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, lift, and perform physical tasks in a production, retail, or food service environment.
- Dependable, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in food and beverage production, grocery meat departments, butcher shops, specialty markets, or commercial kitchen environments.
- Familiarity with portion control, inventory support, meat displays, product merchandising, and sales records.
- Experience preparing specialty cuts, roasts, tied products, cured items, smoked items, or tenderized meats.
- Bilingual communication skills may be helpful in a diverse team environment.
