Phlebotomist III - Floater Location: Indianapolis, IN Duration: 2 Months Shift: Eastern/Daytime Schedule: Monday - Friday: 6am - 6:30pm (up to 8hrs a day) Weekly Hours: 40 Float: 30 mile radius of YB1 Overview The Phlebotomist III – Floater (PSR III) collects quality blood samples from patients, prepares specimens for lab testing, and maintains a trustworthy and professional environment. The role supports patient services across multiple locations as needed. Responsibilities Draw blood samples—including pediatric and geriatric—as directed by supervisory staff. Prepare specimens for laboratory testing according to established procedures. Verify patient demographic information and laboratory tube labeling. Maintain accurate records and documentation for all specimen collections. Provide excellent customer service, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence. Adhere to all policies, procedures, and safety guidelines. Compete with high-volume tasks and manage multiple priorities. Serve as a positive representative to patients, employees, and the public. Job Requirements Provide error‑free work in a fast‑paced environment. Work independently with minimal on‑site supervision. Demonstrate excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric procedures. Be flexible and available for scheduling needs, including weekends, holidays, on‑call, and overtime. Maintain commitment to company policies, dress code, health & safety, and guiding principles. Make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment. Possess reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record when required. Travel to multiple locations with minimal notice as part of float responsibilities. Handle multiple priorities in a high‑volume setting. Demonstrate superior customer focus and effective communication with peers, supervisors, and patients. Handle change quickly and possess knowledge of company business practices. Required Education High school diploma or equivalent – required. Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred; phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, and WA). Work Experience At least three (3) years of phlebotomy experience, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections. Minimum two (2) years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred. Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
