City/State: West Nyack, New York. Department: Physician Practice Management_3. Work Shift: Day. Work Days: MON-FRI, WEEKEND CALL. Scheduled Hours: 8 AM-4:30 PM. Scheduled Daily Hours: 8 HOURS. Hours Per Pay Period: 40. Pay Rate/Range: Starting at $300,000.

Job Summary

Provides direct care to patients and serves as a consistent care coordinator through the continuum of care, assessing the physical, psychological, spiritual and social needs of the patient. Directs patients to the next appropriate service and tracks their progress. Assures that all patients receive appropriate evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, medical screening and medical evaluation whenever indicated, and that all medical patient care is appropriately documented in the medical record.

Essential Functions

1. Maintain current working knowledge of all local, federal, state and other regulatory agency laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures applicable to assigned programs, including cultural and linguistic healthcare and outreach services, quality management, and quality improvement standards to insure compliance.
2. Assist with policy changes as necessary.
3. Maintain compliance with hospital policies and medical staff by‑laws, rules and regulations and all requirements for medical staff privileges.
4. Assist Associate VP with development of practice standards and oversight of compliance with standards to establish and maintain the scope of services required, meeting the needs of patients.
5. Assist with development of clinically relevant, evidence‑based, best practices for patient care.
6. Provide direct medical treatment to patients as needed.
7. Participate in development of a clinically relevant, outcome evaluation process as needed.
8. Liaise and collaborate with community physicians, hospital staff and other professional agencies with regard to patient services. Assist in assessment of community needs to determine program and service priorities.
9. Timely and quality completion of all required documentation necessary for regulatory and financial purposes.
10. Ensure coverage in your absence via working with the CMO to appoint another MD.

Maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance which adheres to the hospital dress‑code policy. Promote and adhere to Nyack Hospital’s guidelines regarding a safe and clean work environment for employees, patients, families and visitors.
  5. RESPONSESIVENESS – I will demonstrate the ability to provide timely feedback and communication to patients, visitors, and coworkers. Respond to patient call lights and ask if I can assist (no pass zone). Respond empathetically. Apologize for delays and concerns.
  6. EXCELLENCE IN SERVICE – I will strive to “do my best everyday” in exceeding customer expectations. Anticipate and address patients’, families’ and visitors’ needs. Avoid negativity and exhibit a “can‑do” attitude. “Manage up” fellow employees, physicians, departments and the organization to increase patient confidence both internally and in the community. Exit elevators to accommodate our patients’ first. Acknowledge people in the hallway by smiling and making eye contact. Help lost guests and new employees by escorting them to their destination.

Qualifications

• Attending required or MD required.
• 1‑3 years preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (medium proficiency).
• Physician‑ New York State Board of Medicine required.
